Cookie notice — Fifth Third Edition
The Fifth Third Edition site uses a minimum set of cookies. This notice tells you which cookies we set, why, how long they live and how to opt out.
1. What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file stored by the browser on the visitor’s device. It carries a name, a value and a lifetime. Some cookies are strictly necessary for a website to function; some help the operator measure the site; some enable advertising by third parties. The Fifth Third Edition site uses only the first two categories.
2. Cookies we set
The site sets three first-party cookies. No third-party advertising cookie is set. No third-party analytics cookie is set. No cross-site tracking pixel is loaded.
- fifththirdstore_cart_v1 — first-party, localStorage, no expiry. Stores the module queue between page loads on the same browser. Necessary for the workspace checkout to function.
- rw_cookie_choice — first-party, localStorage, no expiry. Records whether you accepted or declined the cookie banner so we do not show it again.
- ba_ws_v1 — first-party, HTTP cookie, 30-day expiry. Signed session cookie for a workspace administrator that has signed in through /install-workspace. Only set on successful sign-in. Strictly necessary for the workspace to function.
If you accept the cookie banner we also set a first-party analytics cookie called ba_pv_v1 (30-day expiry) that records a pseudonymous page-view identifier. The identifier is not linked to your workspace email and is not shared with any third party. Declining the banner suppresses this cookie entirely.
3. How to control cookies
The cookie banner appears on your first visit. You can accept or decline the optional analytics cookie there. You can also clear the browser storage at any time from your browser settings; the site will present the banner again on your next visit.
The three necessary cookies cannot be disabled from the banner because the site would stop working: the module queue would forget itself between pages, and the workspace sign-in would drop on the next request.
4. Cookies set by embedded third parties
The Fifth Third Edition site does not embed a third-party advertising script, a social-media pixel or an A/B testing service. The only third-party asset requested by the site is the Google Fonts stylesheet, served from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. Google Fonts does not set a cookie when serving the stylesheet or the woff2 files.
5. Retention
Necessary cookies live as long as needed to provide the service (session-scoped, or 30 days for the workspace session cookie). The analytics cookie expires after 30 days and is renewed only if you re-accept the banner. The banner-choice cookie has no expiry — clear the browser storage to reset it.
6. Legal basis
Necessary cookies are set on the legal basis of Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (performance of the contract you asked us to perform when you loaded the site). The optional analytics cookie is set on the basis of your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR and Article 5(3) of Directive 2002/58/EC (the ePrivacy directive). Consent can be withdrawn at any time by clearing the browser storage or by asking dpo@fifththirdstore.org to remove the associated identifier.
7. Contact
Questions about this notice go to dpo@fifththirdstore.org. The postal address is on the /contact page.
8. Changes
We publish material changes to this notice thirty days before they take effect. If we introduce a new cookie or a new third-party embed we update this page and the cookie banner at the same time.
9. Full inventory
The full technical inventory of cookies and localStorage entries used by the site is maintained in a machine-readable file at /cookies.json (published on request to dpo@fifththirdstore.org). The human-readable summary on this page is guaranteed to match the machine-readable file within one working day of any change.
The Fifth Third editorial team reviews the cookie inventory on the first Wednesday of every quarter and publishes any material change on the workspace email.
